One that will continue across the planned three expansions coming this year - which is a first for Hearthstone as usually all single-player and story content has simply stuck to an expansion's particular theme. Very cool. Also, we've got word that the Hearthstone mission team has doubled in size to "create more robust solo adventures".
Which is a spot of good news for those following Blizzard's development updates of late. The first new adventure is due about a month after the Year of the Dragon commences, and will be a major one with nine all-new playable heroes, fully decked out (literally) with four starting decks, plus the prerequisite Hero Powers. The update is said to also introduce new modes and encounters too.
The first chapter will be free to all players with additional chapters available for purchase at 700 gold each (or AUD $26.95). Here's the latest Hearthstone chat, where Blizzard outlines the upcoming Year of the Dragon.
As with previous Hearthstone refreshes, the Year of the Dragon will see the Journey to Un’Goro, Knights of the Frozen Throne, and Kobolds & Catacombs card sets become exclusive to Wild. Plus, a new random card-back generator - allowing players to finally add some personal visual flair to decks.
