The house that Total War built has long had a console division, with their most recent efforts being the excellent Alien: Isolation and Halo Wars 2 for Microsoft. Since the release of its first-person space survival horror gem, many have been wondering what FPS style game was next for the team. With speculation incorrectly pointing towards another Alien game.
With the recently announced Alien: Blackout from Fox being a mobile game, those hopes were quickly dashed. But now, thanks to a new celebrity director-filled Tweet, we know that Creative Assembly are cooking up a brand new FPS IP.
With Neill Blomkamp (pictures above) being the director behind sci-fi classic District 9 and the upcoming Robocop reboot, the new game has probably got little to do with what he's working on. Recent job listings indicate that it might be multiplayer tactical shooter - thanks to references to leader-boards, progression, gadgets, weapons, and so forth. The tweet does say brand-new IP which would be a weird way to describe a Robocop game.
That said, a Robocop game with the style and quality of Alien: Isolation would be awesome.
