Set in the Titanfall universe, and rumoured to not actually feature any titans, Apex Legends is a new free-to-play battle royale game from EA and Respawn. Set to be revealed and launched tomorrow, the was-to-be surprise because a swirl of rumour over the weekend once those that had early access to a build forgot how an NDA works.

Rumoued to be built off the same Source-powered engine that was seen in Titanfall, the new game will pit up to 60 players in teams of three in a battle royale, err, battle. Without titans, which seems a little strange. As a free-to-play release there is also rumoured to be microtransactions in the form of cosmetic loot boxes similar to the system found in Overwatch.

With the official announcement still slated for tomorrow, alongside confirmation of what, if any, of the above is true - Respawn head Vince Zampella did confirm the title ahead of the reveal.

As a Fortnite competitor we can probably expect to see Apex Legends hit PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
