When Nightdive Studios set out to remake the classic first-person sci-fi horror System Shock it planned to simply recreate the game with a modern look and feel. The successful Kickstarter campaign for the project then led to the scope changing and growing to the point where it was no longer a remake. Where it was then shelved after things got out of control, the team-size shrinking, only to be recently stripped back to the original vision of a remake with modern visuals.
The latest System Shock remake video showcases some final environment art in a pre-alpha build, and it looks suitably moody.
Withe the bright lights and smoke effects adding a cyberpunk like feel to it all. It looks great and we can't wait to check it out.
