In all of its showings so far, EA and BioWare's Anthem has been something of a looker. Running on the same Frostbite engine that powers the Battlefield series, no doubt what we've been seeing has been running on most advanced PC hardware that money can buy. Which always makes the minimum specs a glimpse into just what sort of rig you'll need to get a stable experience. For Anthem, the answer is definitely a gaming PC.

In addition to a Windows 10 install and a persistent online connection.

ANTHEM (Minimum System Requirements)
    OS: 64-bit Windows 10
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350
    RAM: 8 GB System Memory
    GPU: NVIDIA GTX 760, AMD Radeon 7970 / R9280X
GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory
HARD DRIVE: At least 50 GB of free space
    DIRECTX: DirectX 11

ANTHEM (Recommended System Requirements)
    OS: 64-bit Windows 10
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X 3.5 GHz
    RAM: 16 GB System Memory
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060/RTX 2060, AMD RX 480
GPU RAM: 4 GB Video Memory
HARD DRIVE: At least 50 GB of free space
    DIRECTX: DirectX 11

Naturally it's the recommended list that means the most, and strangely EA has listed the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (which we reviewed here) alongside the GTX 1060. And that's strange because the RTX 2060 presents a massive leap in performance over the 1060. Although not mentioned we can assume that recommended is in reference to 1080p performance at around 60 fps with medium or high visual settings.

In relation to the OS requirement, EA has noted that Anthem will run on Windows 7 PCs at launch, but is not officially supported. Anthem is out February 22. And as expected, will need a fairly recent build to run properly.
