Why not kick off 2019 with a little bit of Half-Life speculation, in that the return of veteran Valve writer Erik Wolpaw to the studio can only mean one thing - Half-Life 3! Okay, so probably not even in the slightest. But it's good to see that there's enough narrative stuff going on Valve, outside of keeping Steam going, to warrant a return.

Erik, who left Valve in 2017 to work on Psychonauts 2 is now back at Valve - where he wrote for a number of classic games, including Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and most recently Artifact. Now, if Marc Laidlaw - the lead writer on both Half-Life and Half-Life 2 - were to return, then yes, we could definitely start or re-start our 'countdown to Half-Life 3 clock'.
