That being Jean-Julien Baronnet who worked on the film version of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed, starring Michael Fassbender. Which wasn't all that great, or memorable. But hey, according to Gearbox’s Sean Harran, the Duke Nukem character for a Deadpool-style adaptation.

Telling Variety, "“He’s a parody of 1980s action heroes and he’s like Deadpool in terms of being able to break the fourth wall. We see a lot of humor in his confronting the values of today while trying to save the world.” Adding, “Duke is exactly the kind of very blunt character that we need in the world today.”

And he's not wrong, as a parody of '80s action films is probably the right template for the catch-phrase laden character. The Duke Nukem movie is currently in production at Paramount Studios with Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes. Earlier this year John Cena was rumored to be in talks to take on the lead role.
