The first major update to Battlefield V is here and it's a big one. Introducing a new War Story called The Last Tiger that focuses on a German commander and the infamous Tiger I tank. Also included in the update is a new multiplayer map called Panzerstorm that as per the trailer, well, looks incredible in that it adds an almost World of Tanks feel to the game. Translation, tanks, tanks, tanks.

The Rhine-Ruhr region, Spring 1945. The vast Twelfth US Army Group presses the borders of Germany. German lines are in disarray; units are broken, separated, and poorly supplied. In this setting, you’ll join the German crew of Tiger number 237 – “Stefan” – as it operates a near-indestructible Tiger I tank in an unwinnable battle on the borders of their fatherland. As with our other War Stories, this one is presented in the native language of the crew – German.

The new War Story, as per above, sounds unlike anything we've seen before in a World War II game. And this is all part of the Tides of War campaign that will see the game change and evolve for all players with new modes, maps, and events. Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes is due in January and promises new takes on Rush and Conquest. The third chapter, due later, is the one that will introduce Battlefield V's battle-royale mode - Firestorm.

The Overture update is also a big one for PC players as it includes a major performance boost for NVIDIA's groundbreaking real-time ray tracing technology as part of its RTX line.
