Released earlier this year Frostpunk from 11 bit provided an intoxicating blend of survival, city building, and strategy. In our review we noted that "the sheer emotional weight behind each decision is what separates Frostpunk from other city builders". One of the main issues we had though was that you could only experience the game through finite scenarios with a beginning, middle, and end.

Which is changing thanks to the introduction of a new Endless Mode as detailed in the diary below.



The free update is out now and comes in two flavours - Serenity and Endurance. The former will let you build at your hearts content with access to ample resources in order to create a viable society in the midst of a harsh winter, with Endurance being just that. A test to see how long you can survive, with all of the harsh elements that made the scenarios a somewhat depressing joy to play through.
