And has sold more copies in its first 8 days on sale than the original Red Dead Redemption sold in 8 years. Both figures come as part of the latest financial report from Take-Two Interactive, which also confirms that Red Dead Redemption 2 reached $725 million in retail sell-through during its first three days on sale.

Which sounds like that's boxed copies over digital sales. And all of the above without a PC release too - as these figures encompass the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Outside of sales the report also confirms that Red Dead Redemption 2 is the highest rated game on PS4 and Xbox One on Metacritic with a score of 97 - tied with Rockstar's other behemoth Grand Theft Auto V.

And to brings things back to the cold hard fact that it's all about the money, Take-Two notes "we are raising our financial outlook for fiscal 2019, which is also poised to be a record year for Net Bookings and Adjusted Operating Cash Flow".

Mmmm, Net Bookings.
