Fan remakes of classic games aren't exactly rare these days, but a remake of Rare's classic N64 shooter Goldeneye is certainly one to keep an eye on. Called Goldeneye 25, the project aims to recreate the N64-era shooter in Unreal Engine 4 in the most faithful way possible.

As per the early footage of the game's now iconic Facility level, progress looks to be good - with impressive lighting, great sound effects and dynamic music.

Of course, without enemy models, animation, or the game's renown AI - this project still has a way to go before being playable. But, as per the title Goldeneye 25 aims to be ready in 2022 - just in time for the game's 25th anniversary.
