Even though by all accounts the entirety of the development team working on the final season of The Walking Dead was made redundant without severance pay or warning. And so a new tweet from the official Telltale account stating that several potential partners have expressed interest in completing the season, raises as many questions as it does the hope for fans of the series.

In that what input with the writers, designers, and directors have on the outcome - and if they're involved, paid for their time, etc - is unknown.

Immediate response from fans is understandably mixed due to this very reason. As per the tweet, the second episode of the four-part season is out this week week - and was completed prior to the massive layoffs.
