With a planned November 2018 launch, initially as a public beta. And like with GTA Online will be a free component of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar made
the announcement earlier today, confirming that multiplayer will be an evolution of the modes found in the first game - and is being built using Read Dead Redemption 2 gameplay.
Which means getting to explore the huge open world with friends ala GTA Online.
And with word that it will "also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players", expect this to become as huge as GTA Online. Of course being set in the Old West will mean a very different experience, one that Rockstar plans on shaping with the community.
"We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative."
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26.
