To coincide with PlayUnknown's Battlegrounds exit from Xbox Game Preview to full retail release, Xbox Australia has decided to take the game's iconic use of the phrase 'Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner' to create what it's describing as a Greaseproof wireless controller. Meaning, you can actually eat some chicken while playing PUBG and not worry about mucking up your controller.
How this is achieved is with a "patented special coating resistant to grease and oil". Giving the end product a rather shiny finish.
Very cool, but with only with 200 of these controller produced worldwide they're definitely limited. Thankfully the team at Xbox Australia is giving away a batch through its Facebook page so be sure to head there for your chance to win one.
With over eight-million players on Xbox One, no doubt PUBG is one of the most popular games on the console - with the game itself seeing some major updates and overhauls in the months since its debut late last year. And 1.0 also brings a new map.
“With such a massive player base, from the veterans of Erangel, to the Miramar rookies, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS is a game where truly anything can happen,” says Tania Chee, Xbox Lead for ANZ. “The launch of 1.0 brings the much-anticipated Sanhok Map and much more to Xbox One, enhancing the experience of the fantastically popular game, and we’re happy to have created such special gear for the occasion.”
Stay tuned for more on the Greaseproof controller as AusGamers will be one of the lucky few to receive one for 'review purposes'. Translation: changing that age-old rule of no games until after we finish dinner to gaming whilst eating dinner.
