The Melbourne Esports Open is no doubt set to showcase some amazing competition this weekend at Rod Laver Arena, with one of the highlights being the Overwatch Contenders Australia Season 2 finals set to kick-off tomorrow as ANZ teams Dark Sided, ORDER, Kanga Esports, and Season 1 winners Sydney Drop Bears.
Tickets for Melbournians to attend are still available
via Ticketek, with all of the action to be streamed live on
Twitch. As per Season 1 the level of competition has so far been exceptional, with the path-to-pro setup of Contenders proving to be a success and a true training ground for the Overwatch League. Where only today came word that Sydney Drop Bears player Kelsey “Colourhex” Birse will be transferring to the Boston Uprising (OWL) Academy team Toronto with hopes making it into the OWL roster. Very cool.
