Timesplitters, the 2000s first-person shooter series created by Free Radical Design, was in many ways spiritually adjacent to both Goldeneye and Perfect Dark from the N64 era. In that the studio was made up of ex-Rare employees with the combat and multiplayer built on the same principles. And now it looks like Timesplitters will be making a come back thanks to Koch Media.

“We are hugely excited to have acquired Timesplitters,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO Koch Media. “The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience. We have many fans of the Timesplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill todays gaming audience.”

Future Timesplitters games will be released under the Deep Silver publishing arm of Koch Media, with the company also securing the rights to Free Radical's Second Sight IP. Ahead of any new titles in either franchise we can probably expect to see a re-release or remastered collection of Timesplitters sometime in the near future.
