Which is to say, I'm not entirely sure what I just wrote in that headline, but it seems to me that the fictional Career Mode character of Alex Johnson (played and mo-capped by actor Adetomiwa Edun), now has a fictional 'real-world' signing with Real Madrid. Or something like that.
Truth is, I just don't play FIFA (more of an AFL guy), but this is apparently a pretty big deal as in his signing, and at an event hosted by adidas recently held in New York City, the Real Madrid 3rd Kit was unveiled and is made entirely of Parley Ocean Plastic, which actually does sound pretty crazy, and cool.
In The Journey, Hunter has completed his rise to the pinnacle of world football after taking the Premier League by storm, and then winning the MLS Cup with the LA Galaxy before returning to Europe to lead his club to a domestic league and cup double. Hunter now joins Real Madrid in the dramatic finale of The Journey to chase UEFA Champions League glory with his favoured number 29 shirt.
“It's everything I’ve ever wanted, simple as that.” said Hunter. “To join Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world, is what every kid like me dreams about. And on top of it all, I’m just buzzing to finally get my chance to play in the biggest club competition in the world, the UEFA Champions League.”
FIFA 19 is out September 28 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
