And let's take a look at this for a second. This is the Forza Horizon studio. I remember thinking to myself the first time I played Forza Horizon 2 "I wish these guys made an open-world game", and subsequently I think I internally hoped it'd be an action-RPG. Which is exactly what's happening, and now they have some serious talent helping make that dream come true.
They already had talent from the likes of Rockstar (GTA V), Konami (Metal Gear Solid) and Ninja Theory (Hellblade). Now, however, they've brought in faces from Rocksteady (Batman: Arkham Series), BioWare (various), Guerilla Games (Horizon: Zero Dawn) and even more Ninja Theory talent (though that's robbing themselves at this point, really).
Gamesindustry.biz has a deeper write-up on the specific talent, but the larger whole here is this is going to be something special. Early rumours are that it's a Fable reboot, but if we're being honest something new and fresh from such a jam-packed team of talent would be better. Playground's technical abilities coupled with design and attention to open-world detail are already tantalising enough, but now we have specialists in animation, combat and more.
Would you rather the new sub-studio work on rebooting Fable, or delivering something entirely new?
