After making headlines when they became the first team to win group stage competition for the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, London Spitfire took to Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY over the weekend where they defeated the Philadelphia Fusion in the first Overwatch League Grand Final.

London Spitfire were able to sweep the best of three match-ups with a 3-1 victory in the first set and a 3-0 sweep in the second. With the final moments proving to be quite exciting for the packed house and many OWL fans watching the stream.

Although they managed to beat Fusion without the need for a final match, both teams entered the Grand Final as underdogs with the top-seeded teams getting eliminated in the elimination round. London Fusion takes home the $1,000,000 USD prize, with London Spitfire’s flex support Seung-Tae ‘Bdosin’ Choi jokingly noting in the post-match press conference, "I didn’t think it would be this easy, next year I hope we play against a stronger team."
