As another Steam Summer Sale comes to a close Valve has released a list of the best-selling games of the year so-far broken down into four different categories. Without specific numbers we can only assume that Platinum means a lot, and Bronze less than Silver and Gold but still more than a few copies.

New 2018 releases that made the Platinum list include Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Far Cry 5, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, and surprisingly Jurassic World Evolution. Other notable recent releases include Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, Dragonball Fighter Z, The Forest, and Frostpunk. Of course these new releases sit alongside heavy hitters like GTA V and DOTA 2.

Full list below.

Platinum Sellers

Civilization VI, Grand Theft Auto V, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Far Cry 5, Jurassic World Evolution, Rocket League, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Warframe, Dota 2, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Gold Sellers

Path of Exile, Subnautica, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Stellaris, Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Total War: Warhammer II, The Elder Scrolls Online, Assassins Creed Origins, Ark: Survival Evolved

Silver Sellers

Raft, Slay the Spire, Cities: Skylines, Dark Souls III, Nier: Automata, Arma III, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Dead by Daylight, Fallout 4, Team Fortress 2, The Forest, Human Fall Flat, Frostpunk, Dying Light, Euro Truck Simulator, War Thunder

Bronze Sellers

Stardew Valley, Age of Empires II: HD Edition, Tom Clancy’s The Division, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, XCOM 2, Payday 2, Northguard, Total War: Warhammer, Call of Duty: WWII, Terraria, Planet Coaster, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Conan Exiles, Football Manager 2018, Factorio, Rimworld, Crusader Kings II, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, Europa Universalis IV, Pillars of Eternity Deadfire, SMITE, They Are Billions, Vampyr, Hunt Showdown, Bless Online, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr, The Hunter: Call of the Wild, Borderlands 2, Sniper Elite 4, Surviving Mars, Eco, Deep Rock Galactic, Civilization V, Paladins, Squad, House Flipper, Don’t Starve Together, Just Cause 3, Elite Dangerous, Nioh, Shadowverse CCG, Watch Dogs 2, Thrones of Britannia: A Total War Saga, Dark Souls Remastered, The Sims 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR, H1Z1, Garry’s Mod, Cuphead, Rust, NBA 2K18, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Battletech, Final Fantasy XIV Online, For Honor, Hearts of Iron IV, Darkest Dungeon, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Broken down into the above categories we can only guess what the actual sales numbers are. But even on that from Valve has shutdown what was found to be an accurate gauge of sales - access to Steam Achievement lists in developer APIs that broke down percentages of unlocked achievements down to the 16th decimal place. But with Valve quickly altering this data via rounding the number down to fewer decimal places, this method is no longer available to gauge sales. For the actual number across a wide range of games - check out this excellent post over at Ars Technica.
