Looks like Bethesda is breaking from that thing it does where it announces and releases titles within a six-month period. Which means, yes The Elder Scrolls VI is currently in development but, it's a long way off. According to Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard it will release after Starfield.

Currently in pre-production at Bethesda Game Studios, the acclaimed developers of Skyrim and Fallout 4. The highly-anticipated next chapter in the iconic The Elder Scrolls series.

Like Starfield, also teased today, this will probably be a next-gen release.
