After a performance by Andrew W.K. at the Bethesda E3 briefing, both id Software and Avalanche studios stepped out to present an extended look at Rage 2 gameplay. Set in the aftermath of an asteroid wiping out most of humanity the post-apocalyptic shooter presents fast, fluid, and explosive action.

Launching in 2019, RAGE 2 combines id Software’s shooter pedigree and Avalanche Studios’ open world prowess to offer players the best of both worlds. As Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland, you’ll traverse diverse landscapes using an array of powerful weapons and unique Nanotrite abilities to defeat ferocious factions, massive mutants, and the oppressive rule of The Authority.

From the open world driving to the athletic movement and meaty shooting (the punchy bullet sounds are wonderful), Rage 2 is shaping up pretty nicely. No word if it will offer co-op outside of single-player. Though there is a very cool special edition coming that features "the mountable head of Ruckus the Crusher", where "the lovable half-dead mutant will live on your wall, singing songs and telling tales of his life on the wasteland".

Check it out.

Rage 2 will be out 2019.
