It's that time of the year again, where hype takes over the logic and reason sections of our brains as we gear up for another E3 spectacular. What will E3 2018 have in store for us? A glimpse at the next Elder Scrolls proper from Bethesda Game Studios? Perhaps the unveiling of a new 8K capable PlayStation 5 playing the next The Last of Us game?

These are but a few of the dreams of what could be, so here are the times for the Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Square Enix, and PC Gaming showcases.

Presented in HD, 7.1 DTS-HD AEST format. Err, Australian times.

Sunday, June 10

Electronic Arts (EA)

When: 4:00am AEST

What to Expect: We'll probably get a look at some sports for starters, you've got your soccer with FIFA and your Football American Style with Madden. Plus, there’s be more Battlefield V action where we’ll get to see extended gameplay in the form of both multiplayer and single-player War Stores. But, the real star of the show will be an updated look at BioWare’s Anthem – the online story-driven co-op shooter thing that looked incredible when it made its debut last year.

Hype Train Prediction: EA resurrects Burnout for something new after the remastered edition of Burnout Paradise reminded us of its greatness. And while we’re going a little nostalgic how about some new Command & Conquer and SimCity too. Plus, SSX. We could go on.

Microsoft

When: 6:00am AEST

What to Expect: Microsoft to go all out in what it’s describing as its biggest E3 showing so far. With the Xbox One X being the drawcard for last year’s Microsoft E3 presentation this time expect it to be all about the games. It has to be. With new Halo and Forza Horizon and possibly a few surprises too. Plus, plenty of cool looking indies as always.

Hype Train Prediction: Microsoft announces that it’s acquired a major Japanese developer and publisher along the lines of Capcom. So, let’s just say Capcom. And it unveils a new line of Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive titles from the studio – including Resident Evil 8. That, and the return of a new Banjo Kazooie from Rare ala Super Mario Odyssey.

Bethesda

When: 11:30am AEST

What to Expect: Rage 2! Well, that’s kind of all we know for sure at this stage. Plus, whatever Bethesda has been teasing in terms of Prey. A moon-based standalone adventure along the lines of the one we got for Dishonored. Expect there to be more though, including the possibility of a new Bethesda Games Studio jam – ala Fallout 4 as well as maybe a DOOM 2 reveal.

Hype Train Prediction: Really though, even though this is probably more likely for next year – we need a new Elder Scrolls or what have you from Bethesda Games Studio and Todd Howard’s team. We needs it. We gots to haves it. We’re turning into Gollum in our obsessions over its. Yessss.

Square Enix

When: 3:00am AEST

What to Expect: Square Enix is returning to the world of E3 press conferences this year, but taking a page out of the Nintendo playbook and will be doing so via livestream. Showcasing to the world, the true power of the internet. Ahem. Anywho, we can expect a full gameplay reveal and deep dive into the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Plus, some Kingdom Hearts 3 love.

Hype Train Prediction: But a whole conference just for Tomb Raider? We think not. Our hype senses are telling us that the mysterious Marvel and Square Enix team-up from a while back will make an appearance in some form or another. Also, we’d love to see more on the Final Fantasy VII remake that’s still in the works. The hype train demands it.

Ubisoft

When: 6:00am AEST

What to Expect: More of the pirate-themed Skull and Bones please, even if it has been delayed to next year. That and perhaps some more Assassin’s Creed. Weirdly enough, even though we were totes behind the whole moving away from annual releases, the excellent Assassin’s Creed Origins has us pining for more. Even if it's an expansion. Set in Greece baby! Ahem, that being said confirmation that we’ll be seeing Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and more Beyond Good & Evil 2 is good enough.

Hype Train Prediction: The reveal of a new Splinter Cell game if rumours are to be believed. And because this is E3 we’re talking about, yes, yes they are.

PC Gaming Show

When: 8:00am AEST

What to Expect: The PC Gaming Show has a very different feel to the rest of the E3 conferences. For one it's run by PC Gamer and partners with developers and hardware makers giving them the opportunity to showcase and announce upcoming PC-related stuff. The show takes on an almost late-night talk show like approach, with in-depth interviews, gameplay demos, and lengthy trailers.

Hype Train Prediction: A surprise visit by Microsoft, who just happened to be in the building. And just so happened to have a briefcase. Inside the briefcase is a piece of paper. On that piece of paper is confirmation that the Halo Master Chief Collection is coming to Windows 10.

Sony

When: 11:00am AEST

What to Expect: Sony always put on a great show, with intricately designed gameplay demos that serve as both first-looks at upcoming exclusives whilst also providing many 'wow, gaming has come a long way' moments. This year we can expect to see plenty of the new Spiderman, a Days Gone update, and more The Last of Us 2.

Hype Train Prediction: With God of War already claiming Game of the Year nods from many critics, including us, there’s the surprise reveal of an expansion due later this year. Also, Hideo Kojima takes the stage to showcase a gameplay section from his upcoming Death Stranding that makes total sense. Okay, so maybe not that last bit.

Nintendo

When: 2:00am AEST

What to Expect: A focus on this holiday's big release -- Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo Switch. The Switch has been firing on all cylinders lately and with the system already getting its Mario, Zelda, and Mario Kart, this should impress to no end. But, after last year’s surprise Metroid announcement we’re hoping that its in a ‘gameplay ready’ state to show.

Hype Train Prediction: Whatever Retro Studios is cooking up, even if it’s the rumoured Star Fox racing jam. And if we put on our Logical Hype Hat 3000 for a second, the announcement of Fortnite for Switch with exclusive Nintendo-themed cosmetics.
