Although the trailer announcing the release date for the first of six content expansions coming to Sea of Thieves in 2018 is light on detail, it's full of charm. Featuring a pirate by the name of Merrick telling the tale of a mysterious threat underneath the ocean, it implies that pirates and crews will be facing a new terror of the deep.

Plus, the long-awaited arrival of the drum instrument which might require two separate crews to meet-up and play music with in order to summon the mysterious threat.



Sea of Thieves' The Hungering Deep update launches on PC and Xbox One on May 29. Although we still don't really know what exactly it's all about Rare have confirmed that there will indeed be a new AI threat, new tools, mechanics, and rewards coming.
