Called Blackout, the description points to the overall map size being 1,500 times bigger than the iconic Nuketown map from the Black Ops series. And as is the case with battle royale experiences a survival element includes scavenging for weapons and supplies.

Although we don't have gameplay footage the below teaser sets the scene for the new and exciting mode.

Which will include characters spanning the history of the Black Ops series and be playable both solo and in teams. The map itself will apparently feature iconic locations from popular maps and Black Ops locations too. Even though the same fast-paced combat is expected, in order to bring battle royale to Call of Duty several changes had to be made to the core Call of Duty tech to incorporate a larger scale experience. Including, as we predicted, integration for PC.

This announcement came as part of the official Call of Duty Black Ops 4 reveal event held earlier today.
