Described as a "a first-person, psychological survival simulator set in the uncharted depths of the sweltering Amazon rainforest" Green Hell comes from indie studio Creepy Jar - made up up of ex-Techland Warsaw members that worked on both Dying Light and Dead Island. With that knowledge in tow the first-person perspective and visuals certainly have a Dying Feel, with the premise itself being completely different.
Where survival is both a physical and psychological journey.
The player is dropped into the impenetrable, emerald depths of the Amazon rainforest; the Green Hell. Having no memory of how you got there, your goal is simple: survive. Stuck in a beautifully nightmarish environment, it will take fortitude of mind and the most primitive of means to escape.
With only a radio at your disposal the player will follow a familiar voice through a seemingly endless and ruthlessly inhospitable jungle. Bit by bit, you will unveil more of the mystery of how you came to be in this hostile situation, and what you discover just might be worse than what you fought so hard against to survive.
It definitely sounds pretty interesting, especially with mechanics that include checking your skin and body for infection and parasites. A different take on the survival genre, which typically involves walking up to a bush and tapping buttons to get materials. An Early Access release for Green Hell is expected in the coming months on PC, with console versions also planned.
