Beginning at 11pm (AEST) Thursday May 17 and running through to 7pm (AEST) Monday May 21. The Open Beta will be available across both PS4 and Xbox One and will serve as a primer for the new (or old-school) arcade-style racing of Onrush. Included will be a full tutorial, two tracks with dynamic weather effects, and a suite of vehicles. Plus, single and multiplayer modes.

More a feature-packed demo than beta, this definitely sounds like a great way to check out Onrush before its June 5 release. As an arcade racer Onrush looks interesting with its implementation of ability take-downs as seen in racers of old - and the enduring power of Mario Kart.

For a look at Onrush gameplay check out the extended preview below.

Developed by the new Codemasters development team in Cheshire, UK (formerly Evolution Studios), ONRUSH is not about racing to the finish line. Racing with style and flair is what counts as you perform incredible takedowns and put everything on the line in order to power up your all-important RUSH bar.
