Not that Universal, but the off-shoot Universal 1440 Entertainment. So odds are it wont get a theatrical release and instead go 'straight-to-video' or to streaming services like Netflix. For those that recall we got a Doom movie way back in 2005 that starred Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Outside of an interesting first-person sequence, it was mostly terrible.

No details have been released, other than the announcement from actor Nina Bergman tweeting the following.

Which confirms that shooting will take place in Bulgaria. As Universal 1440’s projects include B-movie fare like 'Tremors' and a 'Death Race' sequel, it's probably worth keeping your expectations low. On the other hand a game-to-film adaptation for Doom would work best as an ultra-violent genre flick.
