For those that need a refresher Mutant: Year Zero is a new tactical adventure game set in an overgrown post-apocalyptic future that is XCOM meets Howard the Duck meets Fallout. A place where mutant animals and talking ducks fight ghouls. Announced earlier this month by Funcom, we now have our first look at gameplay.

And it looks, well, pretty awesome. Polished and full of detail we love how exploration can turn into XCOM style combat with a press of a button. Also the tactical elements look quite detailed and really play into the mutant aspect of the characters and enemies.

Check it out.

Players must take control of a team of unlikely heroes, such as Dux (a crossbow-wielding, walking, talking duck) and Bormin (a boar with serious anger issues), and help them navigate a post-human Earth with its abandoned cities, crumbling highways, and mutated monsters on every corner. The ultimate goal: save yourselves by finding the legendary Eden.

Developed by Bearded Ladies and published by Funcom, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is set to release in 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
