The Open Beta program for Warframe began on PC March 21, 2013 and since that time the free-to-play co-op third-person action-RPG shooter has only gotten better. So much so that in the last year 8 million new players have joined the Warframe ranks across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Bringing the total registered user-count to over 38 million. Definitely worth celebrating.
Naturally this has led to some impressive stats, where players have:
Crafted 52,972,344 Warframes and 234,766,197 weapons. The have assassinated Captain Vor, the game’s first boss, 53,117,969 times, and been part of 41,765,109 Stalker eliminations. And they have accumulated a total of 136,747 years, 49,912,765 days, 1,197,906,351 hours playing Warframe.
Also, the following image demonstrates just how diverse the game has become where it now boasts 34 playable frames - each with their own set of abilities and playstyles.
“Can it really be five years? When we started Warframe it was a 750MB install with one level,” said Steve Sinclair, Warframe Creative Director. “We had no expectations it would endure even half as long. But you, our Tenno, showed up and guided us and gave us hell! With your support we've continued to grow and experiment and with your blessing we'll continue to do just that. There is still so much left to do... together. On behalf of the team here at Digital Extremes, thank you Tenno.”
At AusGamers we only recently began playing Warframe - and came away more than impressed. Which is why we put together a massive
Warframe - Tenno Reasons You Should Be Playing feature. So be sure to check that out, and keep your eyes on the
official site as special anniversary events and goodies are revealed.
