Ambitious would be one way to describe this fan-made project that attempts to tell a cinematic action-packed story of a villain in search of Half-Life protagonist Gordon Freeman. Another would be pretty terrible, as highlighted by the overwhelmingly negative Steam reviews for this Source-powered new Half-Life game. Half-Life 3 this ain't.

Which as per the pre-release trailer, Hunt Down the Freeman didn't really have much of a chance of being anything other than an oddity.

Of course the only reason why we're posting this is that the chances of us actually getting a Half-Life 3 at this stage are slim to none. Especially with several key Valve members who worked on the series and the once upon a time mythical sequel moving on. And technically this is a new Half-Life game of sorts.

Also, as per the following review from Steam user Spudgun, it's a little sad that this is being sold at all.

Imagine being so apathetic towards your own intellectual properties that you allow something like this to be sold in your own store.

(Don't worry I refunded it)

With most other reviews pointing to amateurish animation, character and weapon models, missing textures, and poor overall performance.
