Last December, which wasn't all that long ago, the Esports Games Association Australia (EGAA) was been formed to closely work with players, teams, managers, organisers and sponsors to help advance the Australian esports scene. Great stuff, and today comes word of the first EGAA conference and Esports Awards!

What sort of awards? Well, glad you asked as they're pretty broad and inclusive for just about every game or esports related thing - including categories like Player of the Year, Team of the Year, Best On-Air Personality, Esports Live Event of the Year, and more.

Nominee submissions are now open, so be sure to head here to check it out. Awards Nominations close February 21.

In addition to the awards the first EGAA Conference is also taking place on March 14, 2018 at L’Aqua, Darling Harbour, Sydney.

"The conference and awards will be an opportunity for members of the industry to meet, share knowledge and participate in panels and workshops. This first conference will set us on a path of collective growth and professional development, a chance to get together and share ideas and perspectives with our
peers." said EGAA interim CEO, Mat Jessep.

Very cool, for details on the event and ticket information head here. EGAA members can expect discounts for attending both the Conference and Awards Night.
