The latter of which we can understand but still find a little unlikely due to the rapid growth and investment that PUBG Corp. has seen of late thanks to the game of its namesake - PUBG. Anyway, in a new report over at Polygon, which does the popular thing of noting that the Xbox One has an exclusive games problem - and it does - the piece then drops several rumours about potential imminent Microsoft acquisitions.

The first one being, Electronic Arts or EA. Based on the 2017 that EA had, our advice to Microsoft would be to hold off for a minute on that one. Which, apparently comes from a reliable source within Microsoft too. Also Valve are mentioned. Either way any of the above would be a major shift in the world of videogames.

The piece then goes on to quote an analyst which notes that "Because of where we are in the lifecycle of all these things, I’m expecting to hear Microsoft announce something very, very shortly," in relation to a major acquisition. No stranger to the whole acquisition thing, Microsoft is one of the richest companies in the world so it's certainly a possibility.

Either way, the main focus of the Polygon piece - that the Xbox One is in dire need of some big exclusive titles - remains true.
