Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will launch April 3, 2018 on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux platforms. Pre-orders are open now across the main digital stores for Regular, Deluxe, and Obsidian Editions. The sequel to the crowdfunded classic computer RPG from Obsidian Entertainment is shaping up to be something quite special, and the super Obsidian Edition features some cool add-ons.

Including a cloth map of the Deadfire region where the story takes place, an Explorer’s notepad and a set of postcards. Plus, the game, all future DLC, the soundtrack, and exclusive in-game items.

And the game on 5 DVDs apparently.

“Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is our first sequel here at Obsidian and we’ve created something incredible. At Obsidian, we are all about stories, worlds, and characters, and in Deadfire we’ve done it again with a vast open world explorable by the player’s own customisable ship, character customisation with enough options to make any RPG player want to make a hundred characters, and an exciting narrative that truly delivers on the reactivity that makes our games special. We’re confident that new and returning players will find Deadfire to be the RPG experience of the year,” said Obsidian Entertainment CEO Feargus Urquhart.

Pillars of Eternity II's vast open world and expanded scope which also extends to the engine, which has been overhauled and improved, make it one RPG to keep an eye on in 2018. Also, bonus points for the whole pirate theme.
