Still on track for a late-2018 release, the upcoming Shenmue III from Yu Suzuki and his team at Ys Net is still very much a mystery product. In that we have no idea how it will look in motion, with actual gameplay. Ahead of an appearance at the Magic event in Monaco next month by series creator Yu Suzuki today we've got a fresh batch of impressive Shenmue III screens.

And sure, Ryu still looks a little weird, but the overall detail of the world and characters within for the first time feel worthy of the Shenmue name.

For those that haven't played a game in the series, and well even for those of us who are a little rusty, there are rumours of HD re-releases of both Shenmue and Shenmue II coming sometime this year.

Shenmue III is one of our most anticipated games for 2018, for the full list head here.
