GTA Online, the multiplayer component for GTA V has been available now for several years across both console and PC. It's one of the reasons that the core game has remained in best seller lists since its debut. Making GTA V one of the most successful games of all time. And as per a new post by Rockstar, December 2017 saw more players in the game than ever before.

No word on exact or rough numbers, but when you factor in the tens of millions of GTA V copies sold, it's probably no small number. As for the reason why people keep going back after all these years? Well, a steady stream of new content released throughout the year - including the massive Doomsday Heist in December.

Which means that even though Rockstar's long-awaited Read Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled for release sometime this year, we should also expect more GTA Online content too.
