That is according to Nintendo's internal sales figures which unlike other companies only count consoles sold to consumers - not ones still sitting on store shelves. And as the Nintendo Switch came out in March, and is only just entering its first holiday sales period, 10 million units sold worldwide is a pretty big deal.

Doubly so when you factor in the lifetime sales of the Wii U, Nintendo's last home console, are around 13.5 million units sold.

With a first year line-up that includes Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and many more great third-party and indie titles, you can be sure that people across the industry are taking note of the Nintendo Switch.
