In the job description for its new mysterious P7 project, a third-person action title set in an entirely new universe, Remedy poses two questions "Have you already designed the next Battle Royale? Are you always among the first to find Xûr?" Which points to something potentially as ground-breaking as Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break from the veteran studio.

You can check out the full job posting here, but what stands out seems to be the revelation that whatever it will be will also be online, community, and persistent. On top of the usual cinematic ambitions of the studio's output.

Here's a snippet of the job description.

  • Define and drive the creation of unique content and in-game events that delight players and encourage them to explore the game world
  • Work with the design team to brainstorm and prototype new ways to keep players engaged and the community buzzing
  • Spearhead the creation of compelling, innovative online game modes, including creating simplified level layouts and driving playtests and iteration
  • Share knowledge and keep the team updated on trends and areas for innovation in the connected- gaming space

  • Definitely sounds interesting, and we can't wait to find out what P7 is all about.
