As per our recent review of EA's Need for Speed Payback, a fun new racer that wisely models its open world after the excellent Forza Horizon series, the stinginess at which it doled out rewards was a big concern. As was the overall lack of event and having to re-race just to scrape together some cash for new parts. And now, some of that has been improved.

With the developers taking to Reddit to announce changes that are now live. Based on "community feedback".

  • Increased the amount of REP awarded by taking part in events.
  • Increased the amount of Bank awarded by taking part in events.
  • Bait crates now reward increased REP.
  • Bait crates now reward increased Bank.
  • Competing against a Roaming Racer will reward you with increased REP.
  • Competing against a Roaming Racer will reward you with increased Bank.
  • Air Suspension will now appear more frequently within Shipments.
  • Slightly increased REP and Bank for finishing an event outside of first place.

  • Definite steps in the right direction, and we'll be looking into them to see if they impact the game as much as we hope they do. Assuming all the progression road blocks are lifted, then we'd definitely bump up the review score.
