Although we're all waiting for Microsoft to re-boot the Fable series, it's great to see the franchise alive with the Early Access (or Game Preview) release of Fable Fortune. Which, is a competitive card game ala Hearthstone set in the Fable universe.

And it looks great too, with an art style and sense of humour that is quintessential Fable. Which makes sense once you factor in that it is being developed by ex-Lionhead studio Flaming Fowl Studios and Mediatonic.

“It’s fantastic to hear players say they have “returned to Albion” when they play,” said Craig Oman, CEO of Flaming Fowl Studios. “Everything from the environments to the music to the characters, it just feels like home to us. This may not be an RPG but we feel like we have succeeded in making a true Fable game and we are really excited to see where we can take this during Early access and beyond.”

Although it may look like another card game, it also features a very cool looking co-op mode designed for two players to out-chicken their opponent. Fable Fortune is available on Steam and the Microsoft Store
