Xbox Live Gold members should be pleased with August's line-up of free games as it includes the debut of the charming first-person shooty thing Slime Rancher and the awesome that is Trials Fusion. Throw in Bayonetta for Xbox 360, playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility, and this is one solid line-up of games.

And that's based on having no idea if Red Faction: Armageddon for Xbox 360 was any good.

Here's a look at all four games.

  • Slime Rancher (Xbox One) - August 1 - 31
  • Trials Fusion (Xbox One) - August 16 - September 15
  • Bayonetta (Xbox 360) - August 1 - 15
  • Red Faction: Armageddon (Xbox 360) - August 16 - 31

Certainly, a better looking bunch than July's offering.
