BioWare's general manager Aaryn Flynn is leaving the studio after 17 years, which comes four months after the rocky launch of Mass Effect Andromeda. Flynn joined BioWare straight out of University and worked on seminal releases like Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Jade Empire. The news comes alongside a letter from Flynn posted on the BioWare blog.

As noted in the letter Mass Effect director Casey Hudson is returning to take on the role of General Manager for BioWare. In addition to the original Mass Effect trilogy, Casey worked on what we know now as Anthem as far back as 2012.

I have been contemplating changes in my own life for some time, but when I heard that Casey had confirmed he was up for the task, I realized the opportunities before us. I will be working with him over the next couple of weeks to help catch him up and do my part to set him up for success to be the best GM he can be.

The letter closes with the sentiment, "Now, I’ll be playing BioWare’s games in the future from an exciting new perspective – yours."
