Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics, the turn-based strategy collectible card game set in the SMITE universe, has entered the Open Beta stage of development. And when it comes to the games from Hi-Rez Studios, Open Beta means pretty much done. And speaking of SMITE, the popular third-person action MOBA is getting a major overhaul via a new initiative called Project Olympus. Plus, the 30th Champion joins Paladins.
Okay, lets break this down.
Hand of the Gods: SMITE Tactics
Throughout the recent Hand of the Gods Closed Beta, which we checked out and were quite impressed with, Hi-Rez Studios made a number of changes based directly on community feedback. From everything from strategy to deck building to how the action was presented on screen. The end result, is the free-to-play Open Beta available now from the Hand of the Gods site.
SMITE
Project Olympus. Yeah, it sounds cool but what is it? Well, an overhaul to the somewhat aging SMITE -- one that will be rolled out in pieces that aims to give the game a much needed visual bump. Plus, several improvements across the board, from a revamped HUD to improved in-game tutorials. And a lot more.
Paladins
Jenos, the Ascended, a Support Champion is joining Paladins. Plus, a new map. As the tenth new Champion to join the line-up this year alone, Hi-Rez Studios weren't kidding when it stated that it was committed to bringing updates and new content to the game.
Hi-Rez Studios have certainly been busy, and for more Hi-Rez at DreamHack this weekend be sure to get behind Aussies Kanga Esports as they battle it out in the semi-finals tonight!
