A weird cult, drug-induced hallucinations, and using a black light to explore neon lit environments. By the looks of it, Mafia III's final bit of story-based DLC 'Sign of the Times' sounds like something you'd might find in one of the Batman Arkham games -- filtered through the '60s counter-culture and deep south aesthetic of Mafia III.

In Sign of the Times, Lincoln is pitted against a deranged and violent group of cultists called The Ensanglante, who are hell-bent on restoring righteousness and order to New Bordeaux through violent rituals. The cult uses a hallucinogenic drug to bend its members to their will, distorting their perception of reality and turning them into killers.

Outside of the new story the Sign of the Time will also let players fully restore Sammy’s bar to its former glory. Which is a nice touch. The DLC also introduces new weapons, including throwing knives, and a slow-motion shooting mechanic. For that small touch of Max Payne. Sign of the Times is out July 26 as part of the Mafia III Season Pass.
