As in no more wondering what perks and passives and numbers a weapon will come equipped with. Destiny 2 Game Director Luke Smith recently told Mashable that all weapons will have set stats with no randomly generated numbers. "There aren't random rolls on weapons anymore. Better Devils is a Crucible hand cannon, and what it has on it is what it has on it. Period." Nice.

Citing more flexibility for the studio to do item fine-tuning, the change will seemingly remove any sense of excitement for obtaining a weapon that you already have. Or so you might think. Smith continued, "How can my second, third, and tenth Better Devils hand cannon be interesting? That’s a question we should be asking and answering as quickly as we can." Concluding with a statement that whatever Bungie has in store to keep things feeling fresh may not be ready in time for launch.

Destiny 2 is currently on track for a September 6 release for console, and October 24 for PC.

Agree with you there. Definitely waiting until after launch when some more in-depth information and opinions are available before deciding whether I'll play this time around.
