Announced all the way back in 2014, as Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, Crytek's latest game sounded a lot like Left 4 Dead. Fast forward to E3 2017 and Hunt: Showdown re-emerged to become one of the sleeper hits of the show. With incredible visuals that evoke a sense of dread similar to Resident Evil 7, and an interesting mechanic that sees five teams of two navigate the world in an attempt to survive and fight all sorts of creatures and each other, this is now a game you should be keeping a close eye on.

Although the PvP and PvE combat might also sound a bit like Evolve, the gameplay itself looks to be a very different beast with survival elements, perma-death, and mechanics that also sound like a co-op first-person survival horror.

Check out the following demo, thanks to PC Gamer.

From strict PvE standpoint Hunt: Showdown sounds great, with combat, stealth, and exploration that looks fleshed out enough to be the game. Add in other teams where crossing paths will end in tense battles for survival and we can't wait to see more of Crytek's latest.
