And, it looks great. From Ubisoft, and the team responsible for the excellent Assassin's Creed Black Flag, comes Assassin's Creed Origins. A new entry in the long-running series that, as rumoured and leaked over the past few months, takes the story back in time. With a story set in a stunning recreation of Ancient Egypt.

Journey into Ancient Egypt, the most mysterious place in history, during a crucial period that will shape the world. Discover the secrets behind the Great Pyramids, forgotten myths, the last pharaohs, and – engraved in long-lost hieroglyphics – the origin story of the Assassin’s Brotherhood.

As mentioned in the intro, Assassin's Creed: Origins comes from the Black Flag team -- arguably the best entry in the franchise and an absolutely brilliant game. Which means they've been hard at work on this game for the past four years. Coming October 27 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (at this stage we're assuming a PC version is also in the works), 2017 will mark the return of Assassin's Creed with Origins.

Welcome home.
