As part of this year's Overwatch World Cup, which will once again culminate in the finals held at BlizzCon, one of the Group Stage events is coming to Sydney next month. From July 21-23 the Star Event Centre in Sydney will play host to the Group Stage qualifier that includes Australia.
Australia, who placed 13th in the pool of 32 qualified nations, has a good chance of moving through the round and reach the finals. Australia finds itself in Group C, facing teams from Sweden, Italy, and Portugal. The Sydney event will also feature Group D, which includes Finland, Japan, SpainĀ and Vietnam. The tournament will feature a round-robin set of matches with the top two teams from each group advancing to the single-elimination playoff. The other three Group Stage qualifier events will take place in China, Poland, and USA.
