From its originally planned release date of August 25, to a new date of October 10. As with any delay of this nature it's to ensure that the final game will be the best it can be. So who are we to argue. With the only downside being -- what will we do now during the week of August 25? Start that Great American Novel we've been putting off for years? See what Netflix has to offer? Well, we'll probably end up replaying the original Shadow of Mordor in preparation for what looks to be Game of the Year material.
Here's the official word on the delay.
"Middle-earth: Shadow of War expands gameplay in every dimension, including the massive open world, the story, the RPG systems, and personal player stories of the Nemesis System," said publisher Warner Bros.
"As with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience. In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise."
And as for what we can do today, June 2 -- re-watch the awesome gameplay debut for Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
