After it was released as a thing that was happening thanks to those good old timely earnings calls, Ubisoft's next Far Cry installment takes us to contemporary Montana where the publisher released a teaser trailer that is all kinds of creepy ahead of a main reveal coming in the next few days.

It's hard to take much away from this teaser, but if I was putting my money on anything, I think we might see something of a survival-horror lean to this new foray, with a hint of True Detective-style thriller thrown in for good measure. Montana is a gorgeous part of the world with plenty of wilderness and animals for hunting, but it also has a sparsity about it that could make for some very interesting gameplay and storytelling.

Either way, it's great to see Ubisoft shifting up the series. As long as there's no radio towers to have to climb, they're on the right track.

Watch the teaser trailer below. (Also, sorry BladeRunner for essentially stealing your thread :P.)
